The so-called Column of Iron (or Asoka column), located in Delhi (India), is a high iron column 7 meters and 21 centimeters, weighing 6 tons and 41 cm in diameter, dating back at least to 423 A.D. No rust despite having been exposed for 1,600 years to the monsoon climate. It is part of the Qutb complex, inserted in 1993 in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The originally it would have been in a place called Vishnupadagiri column (footprint hill of Vishnu). The hill today is identified with Udayagiri, about 50 kilometers east of Bhopal. During the Gupta empire Vishnupada Giri was a center of astronomical studies, thanks to the fact that the hill is located on the Tropic of Cancer. The column in its original place casts a shadow, which at the summer solstice (June 21) fell in the direction of the foot Anantasayain Vishnu (in one of the panels that are at Udayagiri). The column is an inscription to the effect that it was built-in honor of Vishnu and in memory of King Chandragupta II. It owes its fame, in addition to archaeological value, the fact that for years has been considered a OOPArt, ie an unexplained object in its historical context.

The resistance to corrosion and oxidation pushed to formulate hypotheses about the unusual production techniques or the provenance of the artifact. The expert analysis of the Indian Institute of Technology, led by Professor R. Balasubramaniam, have shown that it is a particular properties of the metal of which it is made, a very pure iron, with an unusually high percentage of phosphorus due to a particular melting technique carried out by the time artisans.

The phosphorus over time would have favored the formation for catalysis of a protective layer on the surface of the column, a compound of iron, oxygen and hydrogen often 5 hundredths of a millimeter can protect the cake from the aggression of the atmosphere iron. According to supporters of his position “out of time” that would take effect, showing that the craftsmen of ancient India would have been in possession of a particularly advanced metallurgical technology. Instead my point of view, this column because it does not yet know perfectly the origin, derived from the ancient astronauts, this is not simply the Earth‘s iron, but in my opinion is a material taken from another dimension or space, scientists always tend to discard the most obvious assumptions and sincerely do not understand the real reason.
